A transfer of Domain Name refers to a transfer of property of a Domain Name. Some of the reasons to transfer a field are:

1. You sold just or bought this field.
2. You are dissatisfait with your current conservative.
3. You must replace a field.

Sometimes it is cheaper to replace a Domain Name by the payment a transfer, then by paying the fees of renewal. For example, the field of GoDaddy transfers the cost around $7 and includes a field of 1 year
renewal. If your field is registered with the nickname where the renewals cost $10, it is cheaper to transfer to Godaddy and to obtain the prolongation included of 1 year. You will save $3. An economy $3 by renewal of field equalizes with much money cash, particularly if you have hundreds of fields.

It is important to maintain in the spirit which the conservatives do not allow the transfer of the fields to another conservative during one overall period according to the recording of a very new Domain Name. For example Godaddy grants to transfer far from a field 60 days after a first recording. To transfer a field starting from an account on another account at the same conservative can be made constantly.

Some conservatives impose an external lock of transfer on a field for one period of overall time if you bring any changes to the information of contact. Still, upwards until recently of Godaddy a lock of 60 days transfer so of the modifications placed were brought on the information of contact on a field. It was a safety device which was applied to help to prevent the flight of field.

There are two types of transfers of Domain Name.

1. Transfers of property at the same conservative.

The following stages recapitulate such a transfer at Godaddy (other conservatives follow a similar process, examine their FAQ to ensure the details):

1. Opening on your account of user of conservative.
2. Reach your list of field.
3. Reach the details of account of changement/au device field of transfer (different according to the conservative).
4. Again write to the details of account owner, including the email/username of the new owner.
5. Achieve the request for transfer.

In this moment, your conservative sends an email informing the two parts of release of transfer. The email sent to the new owner contains usually a whole of keys of safety combined with another relating to information to the transfer of field.

To achieve the transfer the new owner follows the stages described in the email sent by the conservative.

At Godaddy these stages can be recapitulated as follows (of other conservatives follow a similar whole of stages, examine their FAQ to ensure the details):

1. Notations again owner in their account of conservative.
2. The new owner reaches their screen while waiting for changes of account.
3. The new owner writes the error correcting codes of field in the way envisaged in the email that they received from the conservative.
4. The new owner supplements the process of transfer.

2. To transfer a field starting from a conservative on others.

This type of transfer can be recapitulated by the following stages:
1. The owner of the Domain Name removes the lock of conservative placed against the Domain Name. This is done by the use removes the lock device of your interface of administration of field of account 'of S. Note: A lock of conservative is placed by the owner of a Domain Name in order to prevent all the attempts from transferring this Domain Name.
2. Notations again owner in their account with their conservative.
3. The new owner reaches the screen of field of transfer and the transfer of initiates of the aforementioned field.
4. Their conservative informs the current owner of field (email sought via the information of WHOIS of the field) that a transfer was initiated.
5. The current owner confirms the transfer via their account of conservative.
6. The transfer is accomplished. Note: The transfer can take a few hours to appear in your account of conservative.

The majority of the conservatives follow a similar model like above, but to be sure, their FAQ check or come into contact with them directly.
